La Romita is a small neighborhood located in the Colonia Roma section of Mexico City. The area began as an independent pre Hispanic village called Aztacalco, later renamed Romita. When the area around the village was redeveloped into housing for the wealthy, the village resisted and remained separate socially although officially part of Colonia Roma. Today, its streets are narrower than the rest of Colonia Roma and its residents still consider themselves distinct.
Neighbored by Zona Rosa's nighttime revelers, Colonia Cuauhtémoc's white-collar crowd, and Centro Histórico's religious pilgrims, Roma Norte's residents ink their neighborhood's alleyways, ink their buildings' brick facades, and ink themselves. In this nearly central expressionist enclave, single speeds help artists save on gas and the spare change helps them buy organic. When not skating, spraying, or conceptualizing, Roma Norte's locals share late night cigarettes left to smolder outside the neighborhood's bars and art galleries.
Getting around
Location
Finding transportation won't be a problem here, connected by the rental bicycle system, ECObici, in this neighborhood turns out to be a great option for cycling. The city's Metro station "Cuauhtemoc" is just one street away, and the Metrobus station of the same name is half a street away. If you prefer to take a taxi or UBER, you won't have a problem, you can find one by just leaving the building.

"What a great space with fantastic hosts. The location was perfect and close to one of our favorite neighborhoods to visit when we are in Mexico City! The balcony was always a great place to start/end our days and the kitchen was very well equipped for cooking in (which we did a lot of)! Did I mention that our hosts were AMAZING? They responded promptly and made sure our time at their Airbnb was memorable! I highly recommend this place!"

"Luis' place is perfectly located in La Roma at a 5 minute walk from amazing street food and Metro Cuauhtemoc. The location is walking distance from all you'll need, from cafés, to museums, to restaurants and bars. The building is safe and offers 24h security service that is efficient and responsive to our needs. The apartment was very stylishly decorated, perfectly spacious and very well equipped - two TVs, a large couch and a lot of kitchen tools/dishes. It also had a large fully furnished patio with a whole wall of opening glass doors. We felt safe to sleep with the doors open but we had to shut them because mosquitos were coming in... Luis responds quickly and was very attentive to any questions or concerns we had. We recommend his place 100% and we are sure to return on our next trip down to el DF. Thanks Luis!"

"The place was amazing. I chose this room because of all the personal touches and enjoyed that it looked lived in and not some sterile space. I loved all the art throughout the apartment which was a major factor in me choosing. I'm already thinking if returning to this location in May of next year. Walking distance to MANY great bars and restaurants. Never felt unsafe, always secured."
